As citizens of a democratic nation, each of us has a responsibility to participate in the political process, especially during an election year. We must ask questions of the people seeking to lead us, we must demand the things we need as citizens and we must not let untruths go unchallenged. For democracy to work effectively, for our nation to move forward and for our Constitution – and the religious freedom it guarantees to all Americans – to be protected, we all must engage.
Interfaith Alliance is making a pledge based on reason, truth and civility, and asking each and every one of our members, activists and supporters to join us in making their own citizen’s pledge. Make your pledge here, send the link to your friends, post it on Facebook, tweet it, share it wherever you like and encourage as many people as you can to join you. It’s time to fight back against the negativity, untruths and intolerance that elected officials and political candidates have injected into the electoral process: join Interfaith Alliance’s movement for an honest, respectful national dialogue today.
We’re making a big push to get the word out as far and wide as possible. We’re pushing out the pledge on Facebook and tweeting it with hashtag #reasontruthcivility, and we’d love for you to join the conversation!
Sign our pledge or add your own pledge to it, then pass it on!
