It is with profound sadness we learned of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Donna Red Wing. She was a giant on Religious Freedom and LGBTQ issues with an unparalleled understanding of how those two intersect. Donna was a long time member of Interfaith Alliance’s staff, ultimately becoming our Chief of Staff. After leaving our staff she maintained her connection as a member of our board of directors. Her impact on American life goes far beyond Interfaith Alliance. We first came to know her though her work as to provide a faith based response to the religious right’s anti-gay agenda, work that led Interfaith Alliance to present her with the very first Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award. We will miss our friend and advisor and our love goes out to Donna’s wife Sumitra, her twin brother David, her Son Julian and his wife Cozette, her grandson Jasper, their extended family and all who have been touched Donna’s life.
