OneJax

About us

Originally formed as a local chapter of the National Conference of Christians and Jews (NCCJ) in 1970, and later known as the National Conference for Community and Justice, the organization addressed the ever-changing needs and challenges that come with promoting interfaith respect, acceptance and inclusion. In 2005, the Jacksonville chapter disaffiliated from the national group and formed our local organization, OneJax, Inc. The reputation of OneJax and its work continued to grow and evolve through the years and the areas of focus expanded beyond the limits of faith to include ethnicity, race, culture, ability/disability and sexual orientation and identity. In February 2012, and for the following 11 years—until July 1, 2023, OneJax was formally affiliated with the University of North Florida as an Institute of the University. This partnership was strong and mutually beneficial but ultimately, the needs of the community and university shifted, and OneJax left campus to reincorporate as an independent 501c3 once again.. Today, OneJax is dedicated to continuing its long history of working to build community through respect, understanding, and connections across Northeast Florida.
