In Trump V. Illinois Amicus Brief, Interfaith Alliance Tells Supreme Court that Right to Protest is Key to Religious Freedom

WASHINGTON — Interfaith Alliance, a leading national advocate for religious freedom, has filed an amicus curiae brief to the Supreme Court in Trump v. Illinois, supporting a ruling by a federal judge that prohibits the Trump administration from deploying the National Guard to Illinois. Democracy Forward is providing pro bono legal representation to Interfaith Alliance in the case.

In Newsom v Trump amicus brief, Interfaith Alliance says right to protest is key to religious freedom

WASHINGTON — Interfaith Alliance, a leading national advocate for religious freedom, has filed an amicus curiae brief in Newsom v. Trump, supporting Governor Newsom and U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer’s ruling that the Trump administration broke the law when it deployed approximately 4,000 National Guard soldiers and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in June during immigration enforcement operations and related protests. The case will next be heard by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
